The Staged Reading, With us it all started "is an event of the Dachau Concentration Camp and the Schauburg in cooperation with the camp community Dachau, the Munich City Archives, the DGB Munich, the DGB Training Institution, the archives of the Munich labor movement and the VVN .

Staged Reading

On March 20, 1933, Heinrich Himmler, acting chief of police in Munich and Reichsführer of the SS, Announced the opening of the Dachau concentration camp in March 1933. It was one of the first concentration camps and became the embodiment of Nazi terror. The staged reading is reminiscent of the first inmates of this camp: Communists, Socialists, trade unionists and individual members of the Bavarian People's Party. The Jews among them were exposed to particular abuse of SS. The political prisoners were arrested as enemies of National Socialism, but they have at present in the collective memory hardly any place.
